"I don't believe any lip shade is off-limits"

|
In my peanut butter and Jelly palette post, I mentioned that I was sent a few goodies from Too Faced. So for today's post, I thought I'd share some pictures of the beautiful lippies that I was also sent.  The La Creme lipsticks have been around for while a while (in fact, the colour "Coral Fire", which I still have, was my first ever red lipstick).  Recently, Too Faced launched 10 new colours, 6 of which I was sent to try out.

I was sent Topless, Double Bubble, Mean Girls (shimmer), Wham (shimmer), Berry Naughty, and Ursula (shimmer).

My initial thought was that I'm not a huge fan of shimmer on the lips.  I ended up trying Topless and Double Bubble to start.  I found on it's own, Topless was too nudey-brown on me, but it layers gorgeously with every other colours to mute them.  It goes particularly well with Double Bubble and Mean Girls, which can both look a little Barbie-esque on their own.  But the beauty with these lippies are that you can apply them very sheer or very opaque, so even the bright pinks can be worked into the lips for a very natural flush of colour.

As for the darker colours, I'm actually pleasantly surprised.  Two of the three were shimmery shades, so I was a bit hesitant.  The last thing I wanted was to look like I had purple glitter all over my lips.  But like the other colours, they can be worked in to different levels of opacity, so that the shimmer is hardly visible.  On the lips, I find Wham and Berry Naughty to be very similar, with the only real difference being the shimmer.  Ursula can go on a very vampy colour, but I've been using a lip brush to apply it, and it makes a gorgeous every-day winter colour.

I can't say I'm surprised that I love the formula, since I've had a few of these before.  They are the ultimate in creamy; they feel like a lip balm, and leave your lips super nourished.  They are not the longest lasting because of their creaminess, but if you layer them on in the morning, they can leave behind a beautiful stain for the rest of the day.  I had 2 teas and cake while out the other day with Berry Naughty, and there was still colour on my lips after.

Overall, I'd highly recommend you get your hands on these bad boys.  There are 32 colours to choose from (as listed on the Too Faced website), so you can most definitely find a colour that you'll love.
