"What I don't like about office Christmas parties is looking for a job the next day."

|
I'm usually a matte, minimalistic makeup girl, especially when school gets crazy and I don't care about spending 30 minutes on my hair and makeup in the morning.  But come the holiday season, when things finally settle down for me, I love to go a bit heavier.  Because who wants to look like plain Jane when the posts start popping up on Instagram?

I like to opt for a matte lipstick.  I have oily skin, and get shiny on a good day.  But in hot, crowded rooms, with very brights lights, I become a disco ball.  While I no longer like the feel of the MUFE HD foundation, I do love the way it look in pictures.  So if there will be lots, I'll make sure to apply this with my Laura Mercier Translucent powder.  Otherwise, I'll go for my Laura Mercier Smoother Finish Flawless Fluide foundation in VanillĂ© (which is a tad dark this time of the year).  Also? I always keep a pack of blotting papers in my bag.  I swear by the Boscia ones.

Nars Sex Appeal blush is probably my current favourite.  I love how during the day, the colour really intensifies, and becomes a deep, natural peach colour.  Pair this with the Body Shop bronzer, and it's perfect.

I love a red lip on a normal day, let alone around Christmas.  While the Nars Audacious in Grace is a perfect colour, it's not the most long lasting.  If you do opt for it, apply it with a lip brush and/or lip liner to really increase the lasting power.  And I wouldn't wear this if there's going to be a lot of eating.   Otherwise, I'd opt for a Nars Satin or Matte lip pencil if I want it to last all day.  The Hourglass Liquid lipsticks are also amazing options.
